portraitBorn 1947 in Waterlooville, England, Kevin Barron earned a B.A. in Fine Art from Portsmouth College of Art, specialising in painting and printmaking. After a three-year interlude in the music business with both Cat Stevens and the Rolling Stones, Kevin settled in the mid 1970s in San Francisco where he remained for the following sixteen years. During this period he devoted his time to designing and painting megamurals, both internally and externally. In contrast to these large format pieces, Kevin also became one of the world’s most prolific producers of LSD blotter Art.

“I immersed myself in the world of Jonathan Swift’s ‘Gulliver.’ In the daytime I was outside painting 20ft high, 100ft long Brobdignagian murals and at night I would be indoors creating Lilliputian images on paper just a ¼ inch square.”

Kevin Barron's work has not only been viewed and appreciated by many throughout the Bay Area but over the years his artwork has been both seen and ‘consumed’ by millions worldwide. In addition, Kevin has exhibited in San Francisco, London & Tokyo.

Critics have suggested that his work falls into the category of ‘Pop Art’ although Kevin attributes his interest in the psychology and interaction of colour to the Bauhaus luminaries, Paul Klee and Josef Albers.

Kevin Barron now resides and works in London, England.
